Our Editorial Standards

Content Creation Process

All guides, word lists, and educational content on this site follow a structured creation process:

Research: We consult official dictionaries, competitive Scrabble resources, and educational research to ensure accuracy. Word lists are generated from verified dictionary sources (ENABLE, Collins SOWPODS, TWL).

Verification: Every word claim is cross-checked against at least one major competitive dictionary. Scrabble scores are calculated using official tile values. Strategy recommendations are tested against established competitive play principles.

Review: Content is reviewed for clarity, accuracy, and educational value before publication. We prioritize explanations that help users understand the underlying patterns and strategies.

Updates: When official dictionaries are revised or new research becomes available, we update relevant content. Major updates are noted in the page metadata.

Dictionary Sources & Coverage

Our word unscrambler tool and word lists draw from multiple verified sources to provide comprehensive coverage:

ENABLE Dictionary: ~173,000 words, the standard open-source word-game dictionary used for North American Scrabble (TWL) and Words With Friends.

Collins Scrabble Words (CSW/SOWPODS): ~280,000 words, the official dictionary for UK, Australian, and international Scrabble play.

dwyl English Words: ~370,000 words, a comprehensive general English word list for maximum coverage.

We clearly indicate which dictionary applies to each word list or guide. For Scrabble-specific content, we distinguish between TWL (US/Canada) and CSW/SOWPODS (UK/Australia) rules.

Corrections & Transparency

Accuracy is essential to our mission. If you identify an error — a missing word, incorrect score, outdated information, or unclear explanation — please contact us. We investigate all reports and correct verified errors promptly.

When we make corrections, we update the page content and metadata. For significant errors that may have affected user decisions, we consider adding correction notes where appropriate.

Editorial Independence

All content on this site is editorially independent. We do not accept payment for word placement in lists or guides. Recommendations are based on accuracy, educational value, and utility for word game players — not on commercial relationships.

Contact & Feedback

Questions about our editorial process, suggestions for content improvements, or error reports can be sent via our Contact page. We value user feedback as it helps us improve accuracy and usefulness.
